New York Diabetes Brief (BRFSS)
The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is an annual statewide telephone surveillance system designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).This brief summarizes the data on diabetes among adults for 2006.
BRFSS monitors modifiable risk behaviors and other factors contributing to the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the population. BRFSS data are useful for planning, initiating, and supporting health promotion and disease prevention programs and monitoring progress toward achieving State health objectives.
