New York State Strategic Plan for Overweight & Obesity Prevention
The New York State Department of Health’s Strategic Plan for Overweight and Obesity Prevention was created with community input, and provides goals and objectives to accomplish the identified priorities.
The Strategic Plan’s top three priorities are to increase: (1) the proportion of New Yorker’s who are physically active; (2) the perception of obesity as a public health risk and use of Body Mass Index to improve early recognition; (3) access to healthy food choices, particularly by low-income populations.
