The State of Diabetes in New York State: A Surveillance Report

The presentation, developed by the New York State Department of Health, looks at diabetes statistics in New York State from 1997 to 2004.

Included in the presentation are data on prevalence, mortality, hospitalization, lower extremity amputation, end-stage renal disease, and insurance type. Both statewide and local statistics are reported. The data show trends over time on some of the important negative health consequences of diabetes and alerts us to the alarming increase since 1997.
