Informing Health Care Reform Options for New York State

October 2008
This Cornell University report, funded by NYSHealth, explores the opinions of New Yorkers on health care reform and summarizes the findings of a statewide survey of 475 employers and 1,200 residents.

Using telephone surveys and focus groups in both rural and urban areas of New York, this study examines New Yorkers’ views on the importance of health care costs and health insurance, acceptable reform options, what they are willing to pay, and who is responsible for health insurance coverage. It also indicates how employers may react to reform options. Findings can inform the analysis of health care reform options in New York State.
