Diabetes Prevalence by Neighborhood Chart

This chart from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene shows Health Status by neighborhood for New York City, including the prevalence of sedentary lifestyle, obesity, and diabetes.

It is clear from the chart that diabetes prevalence unevenly distributed across New York City neighborhoods. The diabetes prevalence rates range from 2% in Gramercy Park and Murray Hill to a striking 17% in the Hunts Point and Mott Haven neighborhoods of the Bronx. These neighborhood level data of disease burden help to target resources in the areas most in need.
