Diabetes Related Adult Hospitalizations by Neighborhood Chart
This New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene chart shows adult hospitalization rates by neighborhood for New York City, including the rate due to diabetes.
Particularly striking is the wide range of diabetes-related hospitalization rates, with an East Harlem rate more than ten times that of Greenwich Village and Soho. These neighborhood level data of disease burden help to target resources in the areas most in need. As part of our New York State Diabetes Campaign, NYSHealth aims to reduce disparities in hospitalization rates across these neighborhoods.
