The Mental Health Association in New York State (MHANYS) is a voluntary nonprofit association with 32 local affiliates serving 52 counties throughout New York State.

The mission of MHANYS and its affiliate network is to promote mental health and recovery, encourage the empowerment of mental health service recipients, eliminate discrimination due to a mental health diagnosis, raise public awareness of mental health issues, and advocate for equality and opportunity for all. MHANYS’ project on co-occurring disorders includes the Co-Occurring Disorders Information Center, which offers information and resources to individuals, family members, and service providers dealing with co-occurring disorders.
