Co-Occurring Center for Excellence
The Co-Occurring Center for Excellence (COCE) was created in September 2003 by SAMHSA. As the first national resource in the field of Co-Occurring Disorders (COD), COCE has been the main source of support for efforts to integrate mental health and substance use services at the state, community, and provider level
COCE is the country’s most comprehensive resource for technical assistance, information, and training in screening, assessment, and treatment practices for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. COCE also supported the Co-Occurring State Implementation Grants program (COSIG) and Policy Academy initiatives, which provided financial and technical support to help States improve their behavioral health services for people with mental health and substance use disorders.
