The National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics (NCVAS) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) collects and analyzes data related to Veterans.

On this site, one can access a wide range of reports, surveys, data sources, and other relevant statistical information on veterans populations including:

  • Quick Facts – Summary Statistics.
  • Demographics – VetPop 2007 is the VA's latest official estimate and projection of the Veteran population and their characteristics from 4/1/2000 to 9/30/2036 projected as of 9/30/2006.
  • Geographic Distribution of VA Expenditures (GDX) - An annual report that shows estimated VA expenditures for major programmatic areas.
  • Census 2000 – Includes population information for the approximately 26 million Veterans across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
  • Special Reports – Data, analysis and narrative on a wide range of topics including specific sub-groups of Veterans of special interest, such as female Veterans and an Analysis of Unique Veterans Utilization of VA Benefits & Services.
  • Surveys & Studies – Includes the 2001 National Survey of Veterans and the planned 2009 National Survey of Veterans, Active Duty Service Members, Activated National Guard and Reserve Members, Family Members and Survivors.
  • Links to Related Sites –VA and other Federal Agency statistical analysis Web sites, including Veterans Benefits Administration, Department of Defense, Office of Management and Budget, and the Department of Labor.
