The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, National Committee for Quality Assurance, and American Diabetes Association jointly have created Diabetes Quality Improvement Project (DQIP) measures.
This article presents diabetes-specific accountability measures for all types of health care practices. In addition, managed care organizations, hospitals, and government agencies have developed internal accountability measures or “report card” systems to analyze the diabetes care they provide.
