Through its Veterans Reintegration Assistance Program, the Rochester Veterans Outreach Center will provide outreach and reintegration case management for veterans and their families in the Finger Lakes region, and will create a cross-sector team to improve coordination of reintegration services throughout Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and surrounding areas.

The Veterans Outreach Center is committed to improving the quality of life for veterans by offering free, veteran-specific services, including employment counseling, vocational training and housing for homeless veterans. Opened in 1973 to support Vietnam veterans coping with their wartime experiences and to facilitate government benefits claims, the VOC has evolved to
meet the contemporary and ever-changing needs of all veterans.

The Rochester Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) is the first veterans outreach center in the country to providing veterans with a broad range of reintegration services. Through its Veterans Reintegration Assistance Program, VOC will provide outreach and reintegration case management for veterans and their families in the Finger Lakes region. In addition, through Operation Welcome Home and Recovery, VOC will create a cross-sector Action Coordinating Team to improve coordination of reintegration services throughout Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and surrounding areas. This project demonstrates how a veterans service organization can inform and impact local policies and practices related to veterans reintegration services
