Benjamin Prayz joins the New York State Health Foundation as director of finance and operations where his responsibilities include oversight of all financial, personnel, technology, and administrative matters. Mr. Prayz has nearly fourteen years of experience managing all aspects of nonprofit fiscal, human resource, technology, and office operations. Most recently, he served as the director of finance and human resources at Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health in New York City. While there, he overhauled the organization’s financial procedures, developed a semi-annual training program in non-profit finance for its 30-physician member Board of Directors, and created a new human resources system. Previously, Mr. Prayz served as the administrative director for the Center for Urban Community Services’ Housing Resource Center, executive director of In the Life Media, and deputy director of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. In addition, he serves as the treasurer of the Personnel Association of Non-Profit Organizations, a membership group composed of nearly 200 nonprofit human resource, finance, and administrative professionals.

A licensed notary public in New York State, Mr. Prayz holds a Master of Business Administration from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from S.U.N.Y. Empire State College.
