As NYSHealth’s Grants Assistant, Lindsay Shields provides support for the full range of proposal intake and grant management processes. Ms. Shields has several years of experience in the nonprofit sector; before coming to NYSHealth, she was an Institutional Giving Assistant at Girls Incorporated, a national organization that offers research-based programs for girls, including economic literacy, self-defense, community leadership, and pregnancy prevention. At Girls Inc., Ms. Shields wrote letters of inquiry and grant proposals and reports, playing a key role in fundraising for the organization. Prior to Girls Inc., she worked at Thirteen/WNET New York, the nation’s most watched public television station, where she responded to both member and viewer inquiries, managed member records, and generated reports based on viewer response.
